Australian consumer confidence fell 2.8% in the week to November 25, to the lowest level in over four years, data from ANZ-Roy Morgan showed. The four-week average was at 110.3, well below the long-term average of 113.1. The biggest fall was seen in "time to buy a major household item" which fell to 117.1 from 121.1. This was the lowest level in 10 years and well below long-run average of over 130. This has implications for consumption growth in the economy and thus for RBA monetary policy.
