Australia's 2031 bond syndication may hit record orderbook

Published On 25 Aug 2020 , 04:57 PMOrderbook for the Australian government's 1% 21 November 2031 bond issue may hit a record high, likely surpassing A$53.5 billion by the time the book closes Wednesday morning. The syndication has so far attracted orderbook totaling A$52.5 billion. The record high so far is for the December 2030 syndication in May which attracted orderbook of A$53.5 billion
Price guidance has been tightened to 8.5bps-9.5bps over the implied bid yield for the primary ten-year Treasury Bond futures contract, compared with +8bps to +11bps at the time of launch. This equates to indicative yield of 0.9950%-1.0050%. The issue will be priced on Wednesday.
