Full Title of RBA Kent's Speech Next Week
By Sophia Rodrigues
Published On 20 May 2022 , 10:00 AMThe full title of RBA assistant governor Christopher Kent's speech next week is, "From QE to QT - The next phase in the Reserve Bank's Bond Purchase Program."
Kent is speaking at the KangaNews DCM Summit 2022 on May 23 at 9:05 AM. The last time the RBA talked extensively about the BPP was when ex-Deputy Governor Guy Debelle spoke in May 2021, where he dedicated an entire section to explaining how the program works.
Kent's speech will likely focus on some of that and the future, including the longer-plan for the balance sheet (though there's no fixed plan yet).
Given that Kent is now the senior team's leading "expert" on financial markets (Deputy Governor Michele Bullock is relatively new in her position), expect at least one new takeaway from his speech.
