RBA unexpectedly tapers bond-buying to A$750M

An unexpected further tapering in bond-buying by the RBA this week, with today's announcement to purchase A$750 million of government bonds. Just yesterday, the RBA had cut the size to A$1.0 billion from A$1.5 billion.

The RBA is buying April 2025 to April 2027 bonds, the same bonds it bought yesterday.

Bonds in this range are:

-3.25% April 2025
-4.25% April 2026
-4.75% April 2027
