RBNZ's Hawkesby Promoted to Deputy Governor

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has announced the promotion Christian Hawkesby to the position of deputy governor, effective January 2022. Hawkesby is currently the assistant governor for economics, financial markets and banking and will replace Geoff Bascand who retires in January.

Hawkesby joined the RBNZ in 2019 from Harbour Asset Management, and prior to that he spent 9 years at the Bank of England.
