RBA's Ellis may talk on labor market, underemployment
By Sophia Rodrigues
Published On 23 Jun 2021 , 11:04 AMRBA Assistant Governor Luci Ellis will be speaking at AI Group Business Lunch event this afternoon. The speech is due at 1:55PM Sydney time.
The topic of the speech has not been revealed but it is likely labor market will be a key theme, and within that underemployment. Given recent forecasts of RBA rate hikes starting as soon as late-2022, one cannot discount the possibility that Ellis will reiterate the RBA guidance that rate hike is still some way off.
