No pause in RBA bond-buying yet
By Sophia Rodrigues
Published On 27 Apr 2020 , 12:29 PMNo pause yet in RBA's bond buying, with announcement today to buy A$500 million of government bonds maturing in the May 2028 to April 2029 bracket. This is the third time the RBA is targeting the 2028-2029 only maturity, though this time it is still narrower because the November 2029 bond is not included.
There are thus three bonds falling within today's buying criteria -- May 2028, November 2028 and April 2029.
The RBA didn't conduct any bond-buying on Friday but it was already announced there would be no purchases on Tuesdays and Fridays.
